Hydrogen is basically the motherelement in the universe, hence it being #1. This has of course led to it evolving into different elements, kind of like bacteria evolved into humans in the course of a few billion years, and thus we can always find traces of hydrogen in all other elements, and that's pretty much the relationship between hydrogen and other elements.
