The force that causes turgor pressure is osmosis.
The pressure that builds in a plant cell as a result of osmosis is called turgor pressure.
Turgor pressure forces plasma membrane against cell walls of plants and bacteria. The pressure is caused by osmosis.
Turgor supports plants that do not have woody stems. Plants lacking in turgor visibly wilt. The process of osmosis plays an important part in maintaining the turgidity of plant cells.Water leaves and enters the cell by osmosis. If too much water leaves the cell, for example during drought or saline conditions, then turgor is lost and the cell becomes flaccid. As turgor gives the plant rigidity, loss of turgidity results in the plant wilting
osmosis stops when there is equal amount of concentration of water molecules on either sides of the semi permeable membrane. but due to higher osmotic pressure, turgor pressure and wall pressure, osmosis stops just before the concentrations become equal.

Why does fluid move against gravity? Fluid, such as water, is lost due to osmosis and the internal pressure (aka turgor pressure).
Osmosis moves water into the central vacuole which then presses against the cell wall to create turgor pressure, causing the plant stems to become rigid.
Here are 3 examples: 1.)Plasmolysis, which is caused by osmosis, causes land plants to wilt due to the lack of turgor pressure. Plants do need turgor pressure to keep them upright. 2.)Flowers open when the inner surface of their petals become more turgid than the outer surfaces. 3.)Guard cells on leaf surfaces control the stomata size using changes in turgor. The difference of turgor pressure and diffusion is that turgor pressure is an osmotic pressure exerted by the contents of a plant cell against its cell wall; while diffusion is a movement of molecules from an area higher concentration to an area lower concentration.
That would be the large central vacuole. In plant, not only does it contain water, it also controls turgor for when the plant receives a lot of water instead of simply lysing like in animal cells.
