Kepler's third law says that the time of one revolution round the Sun is proportional to the distance raised to the power 3/2.

That means that a planet at a distance of 4 astronomical units would have a rotation period of 8 years. At 9 astronomical units it would take 27 years.

How far something travels?

Displacement is the term for the change in position of an object. You find displacement by taking the final position of the object and subtract the initial position of the object.

How is rotation different from revolution?

"Rotation" refers to an object's spinning motion about its own axis. "Revolution" refers the object's orbital motion around another object

What keeps all planets in their orbits besides gravity?

Mass and energy of all the other planetary objects. Larger masses attract smaller masses at the rate proportional to the size (Mass) of the object versus the velocity of the planetary object. A universe is held together or not held together by this simple mathematical relationship. Without the existence of E=MC squared there would be no other way to answer this question. Because of this equation, mankind can understand all relationships involving matter and the universe.

What makes an object stable?

An object is stable because of the position of the center of gravity.

What is the object that is independent of time and position?

space

What is the difference between a planetary object and a moon?

A planetary body is a non-luminous object rounded by it's own gravity that orbits a star or a stellar remnant. A moon, or satellite, orbits a planetary body.

What is the definition of revolution?

revolution is an object moving in a pattern around another object.

How do you specify the location of an object?

The location of an object is its position.

How are positions and motion related?

Motion is change of position. but remember both must always be related to some 'datum' position or state of motion.

What is the relationship between the work done while moving a book to a higher bookshelf the potential energy that the book has on the shelf?

Potetial energy is the energy an object has because of its position or location, or its energy of position.

Change in position of one object compared to the position of another?

The change in position of an object compared to a reference point(another object) is called motion.

When an object is in motion what changes?

If an object is in motion than its position is changing.

What is the relationship between mass of an object and thr amount of water that the object displaces?

No relationship at all. But there is a definite and direct relationship between theamount of water than an object displaces and the object's volume.

Can the position of an object change?

The push or pull action or force on an object causes change in position of an object
