The origins of Halloween are from that of Celtic Pagans, so Paganism. It was the celebration of the end of the harvest where the line between the living and the dead was the thinnest so they would wear scary masks to blend in with the spirits and carve turnips to make lanterns that ward off evil.
Any religion except puritans.

As a general rule for non-mainstream pagan religions (more so wicca than any other) Halloween, or Samhain, is a time to honour and pay respects to those who have passed away in the course of the year. In addition, for followers Celtic wicca, it is the start of a new year.
In many pagan traditions, Halloween is celebrated as Samhain, a Celtic fire festival which marked the end of the year and was also a time when spirits freely roamed the earth.
