Uttarakhand is sanatan dharam (hindu) State. where Hindu are in majority and and other in minority . And uttrakhand is a khas rajput and khas bhraman state where they are divided into two areas Garhwali and Kumaoni. In Garhwal the they speak Garhwali and in Kumaon they speak Kumaoni.
