the climax of this book is when Will, bringing Baron Arald to help fight the Kalkara realizes that Halt is the one the Kalkara are hunting and Will finds Halt battling the Kalkara. Of course Halt wins with the help of Will.
1. Will and Evanlyn are sold in Skandia as slaves
2. Halt and Horace pursue Will on horse and are taken prisoner by a man called Deparnieux
3. Halt defeats Deparnieux
4.Will finds out Evanlyn is the princess of Araluen
5.Will takes warmweed-a drug
Will is brave, loyal, small, lithe, and, as the books go on....he becomes more and more like halt, unconsciously imitating his mannerisms. will seems to be an unlikely hero, but he shows true grit.
In it Morgarath, a formal baron, is rebelling against King Duncan and the country of Arluen.
The conflict is halt and will have to find the karkara and kill them...sorry if this is wrong but i remember it being about they cant look at them and he finds a way to kill them.
The theme, from what I know, is that the underdog can win. You can come from any background, you can be a nobody, but you can become something bigger than that, all you have to do is believe.
