River Ganges is a Holy river for many religions. Hindus believe bathing in the river purifys them. The river is also used for "water burial". A floatable pyre is constructed for the body and set alight, it is then released into the river.

The Ganges River Dolphin is blind not because of pollution but mainly because this species of fresh water dolphins don't have lens but oddly enough use their eyes to locate them selves. I am puzzled by your question in the use of the word you. The main river of Bangladesh is the Brahmaputra, which becomes the Jamuna River as soon as it enters Bangladesh. It then becomes the Padma River when the Ganges joins it some 72kms west of Dhaka. It then becomes the Padma-Meghna river when they join at Chandpur.
