Beeswax is a substance that is produced by the wax glands on the underside of the bee's abdomen. It is exuded as a liquid but sets as soon as it comes into contact with the air, and can sometimes be seen as a number of pin-head sized flakes on the underside of the bee.

The bees sweep the wax forward to the mandibles with their legs, then chew it and position the wax where they want it to be. They use it to make the comb in which the eggs are laid and the larvae live; and where pollen is stored, and where the nectar is stored in the process of converting it into honey. Once the honey is ready, the bees cap those cells with a layer of wax -- rather like putting a lid on the jar.

bee wax or more commonly called bee's wax, is just what it implies. when a bee deposits it's honey in the hive whether natural or man ade, it covers it with wax that the bee produces. when the bee keeper takes the slated board out he will scrape the wax off before sending the hive for production into honey that we buy in a store. the wax is melted and the extra honey removed. the bee's wax is then most likely send to a candle company. bee's wax candles are use for religious altar candles by many Christian Churches supposedly becaus it is the purist candle wax there is. speaking as a Catholic , we use candles on our altars during Mass by acolytes( candle carriers) in many rites from baptisms to funerals. also a popular saying from years past was mind your own bee's wax which meant m.y.o.b. i guess they were more polite back then as far as the honey is concerned the varieties come from what the bee pollinated orange blossom and clover are the most popular
