what is the saxophones top note
Not often. Saxophones are transposing instruments (the note they see and finger is not the note that comes out) and oboes are not. C "melody" saxophones are relatively rare, but they would be able to read C music along with an oboe.
In the modern orchestra or band the woodwind section usually contains piccolos, flutes, clarinets, oboes, bassoons, contrabassoons, soprano saxophones, alto saxophones, baritone saxophones, and tenor saxophones. However, there are many other woodwind instruments out there such as recorders, bagpipes, panflutes, aulos, duduks, ocarinas, shawms, crumhorns, gemshorns, didgeridoo, kortholt, dulcians, and shvis, just to name some off the top of my head. Hope this helped.
I assume we are referring to Leblanc (not Lelanc) saxophones. These saxophones are produced in Kenosha and Elkhorn Wisconsin by Leblanc, Inc., a division of Conn-Selmer, Inc.
The reed vibrates when the Musician blows into the mouthpiece. These vibrations resonate down the sax & come out the closest hole to the top.
The top note sung is A.

Basically, you start on any note and go up a half step. This works on all saxophones. Go from C to #C to D to #D... ect.
