Yes. One each. And that's my smartass remark for the day.

Serp belts are among the most asked about things in this section. They deserve their own sticky answer at the top of the question page, but so far that feature hasn't been added.

The belts can be a little bit of a pain to change, but particularly with some help, you can do it in about 20 minutes.

The biggest problem we have with belt questions is the routing. Most Sunfires came with a routing diagram somewhere under the hood or on the underside of the hood. If your car has one, GOOD! If it doesn't, and the belt is still on the car, make a quick diagram of the routing. It MUST go on exactly right.

The belts have, in their path, a tensioner. It's a spring loaded thing that looks like a pulley without flanges. Generally, it's the only thing in the path that is very shiny and contacts the OUTSIDE of the belt. You have to relieve the tension by putting a wrench or a socket or whatever you have to use, to rotate it so you have some slack in the belt. Then you should be able to get the belt off. Replacing the belt is the reverse, but is a pain. This is way you'll want a buddy and a six pack. 4 hands make getting the belt back on properly while still relieving the tension possible. When you get the belt back on, start the car and watch it run for a few minutes just to be sure that all is well and that you don't throw the belt off.
