no Yes it is. The server and multiplayer has also always been part of Minecraft. If you bought the Beta version of Minecraft it is still good for the Full Final release of Minecraft.
You can use alot of ways;If its a normal Mc server (not bukkit) then you have to code a modIf its a bukkit server then you can1. Minecraft Is Both Multiplayer and single player; when you open the minecraft window (or when you play it in your browser) it shall say:MINECRAFTsingleplayerMultiplayerMods And Texture Packsoptionsif you click "multiplayer" it will ask for a server IP. to find a server IP you could look it up on the internet "good server IP" or something like that. (sometimes its hard to find one which works) The server ip is basically a "code" to allow you into a particular server. when youve typed the server ip into the bar which comes up when you press "multiplayer" it should log in to that server.
a server address is basically a code that gets you to the server. i play on a server cald korecraft (my in game name is linkenup2bcool, i don't own the server though). the server address or ip is korecraft.com (it is still up, but might be down sometimes)
It means the server is iether down, reloading or the server creator hasn't port forwarded the server It means that the set timeout time in the java code of minecraft is less time than it took to connect to the server meaning the connection has 'timed out' this is because the server has been unresponsive for more then said amount of time.
A 503 error is a universal error code. It usually means there is a problem within the server itself, such as an overload.
The ID (code) for TNT in Minecraft is 46.
