What is the setting of the story of Ruth?

The setting of Ruth is defined in the opening of the first chapter.

1) Ruth occurred during the days of the Judges, before the Kings

2) Men of Bethlehemjudah, during a time of famine, went to sojourn in the country of Moab. Bethlehem Judah is on the outskirts of Jerusalem. So you have people from the land of Israel going to the land of Moab

3) Ruth is from Moab, Moab was the incestuous son of Lot via his daughters (Genesis 19) (Lot and his two daughters escaped from Sodom and thought its destruction was the end of most of mankind... Imagine being witness to our Father's destruction of an entire kingdom, such as Sodom). Lot was Abrahams nephew. (Genesis 12),

Now. understand why Noah was chosen ... he was perfect in his generations (Genesis 6)... to who? He was perfect in his generations to the 8th day man Adam (man formed to till the soil - Genesis 2). Christ was also perfect in his generations from the same Adam (eth ha adam). The fallen angels defined in Genesis 6, did not interrupt the blood line to Christ. Roth and Boaz were part of that pure blood line. the book of Luke (3:32) defines that blood line which extends to Mary, mother of Jesus Christ. Booz is the Greek spelling for Boaz.

Understand this setting defined in the book of Ruth. (Get a Strong's concordance-dictionary and look up these names)

Naomi's sons are defined as being Ephrathites, (of Ephraim, son of Joseph, receiver of the covenant - Genesis 49). Its important not to miss this point, as the covenant ran from Abraham to Isaac to Jacob (Israel) then to Ephraim where it rests even until today.

Naomi is the wife of Elimelech

Naomi has two sons who mary, one of them marrying Ruth

All of the Men die - Naomi's Husband and her sons.

Naomi returns to Judah

Naomi gives her two daughters in law release to return to the house of their husbands .. Ephraim.

This is the important verse: And Ruth said, intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodges, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people and thy God shall be my God.
