There was a rumor started that because Mr. DeCaprio hung around best pal Tobey Maquire (of Spiderman) and that they had many friends they hung around with that were gay along with Maquire's mother when she was approached by tabloid journalist Marlise Kast regarding an article she was working on for gay pride magazine started this rumor.
