It is about a 12-year-old Airbender monk named Aang ( Airbending is a type of power in Avatar) who is the Avatar, a person who can control all 4 elements- Water, Earth, Fire, and Air-. Aang hates being the Avatar so he runs away despite the Fire Nation's ( The Fire Nation is the land where the Firebenders live-Firebenders can control fire, Waterbenders can control water, Earthbenders can control earth, and Airbenders can control air.) approach to war. While running away, Aang gets frozen into an iceberg. 100 years later, two siblings from the Water Tribe named Katara and Sokka discover Aang. Aang then finds out the Fire Nation started the war, and it has been going on for a 100 years, and the Fire Nation is on the brink of victory. So the story is about how Aang has to master the other three elements in time so he can save the world from Sozin's Comet- an event that will reach the Fire Nation to the status of victory.
