The feast of Pentecost was sometimes called the feast of 'harvest' or the 'day of first fruits'. It was a Jewish festival that commemorated the beginning of the corn harvest later it developed into celebrating the giving of the law.
It's significance in Acts chapter 1 is that the Christians who received the Holy Spirit were the 'first fruits' of the Christian era. The era of grace not law.
