A mouse allows manipulation of the virtual cursor and in most cases has 3 buttons, the left mouse button, the right mouse button, and the middle mouse button. The mouse is for easy navigation and is manipulated by moving it around on a flat surface. The keyboard allows for tying and crude navigation, responding to key presses. Some keyboards (mostly laptop keyboards) have small touch pads that provide the same function as a mouse. The keyboard can also responded uniquely to keys that held down for an extended period, making neither a flat-input device.

See, the main differences are keyboard is used to type documents and edit texts while mouse is used to point something on the screen.

Another difference is that a keyboard is made up of different types of keys whereas the mouse is made up of two or more buttons along with a scroller at it's bottom.
