I have a male that is 9 months old that weights in at 120 right now and I have been told that he will grow till he is 2 years old. I also have a female that is 1 year old that weights 90. so it varies on what you feed them and if you worm them right.
Technically 10-12 years. However the life span of any dog can be hard to tell with so many factors such as diet, environment, etc.. Being a pet nutritionist and dog behaviorist in my experience providing your dog with proper nutrition and exercise can greatly impact their life span and quality of life. Keep in mind that any food you can buy from your grocery store is crap, anything that contains by-products is crap and just because your vet sells it doesn't mean its good. Remember in most cases your vet isn't a nutritionist. Also there are very few laws regulating what they put in our pets food. Do you and your pet a favor and do the research before buying the food, don't just take someone's opinion on it( even if it is your vet). Petco is a great place for information on healthy foods in my experience. My last trip there I found out they have certified nutritionists in stores now that can help you make an educational decision. As far as exercise goes, I'm not talking about a really big fenced in yard. As a trainer and behaviorist I hate when people give this as a response when I ask how often they walk their dog. Dogs just like us need the outside world. Not to mention their ancestors, the wolf, travel several miles everyday. Could you imagine how you would behave if all you saw was your house and yard your entire life? Not to mention when we first started the dog and human relationship it was for working not to have a new "baby" in the house. ALL ANIMALS NEED EXERCISE!
