A Virus called Prion was considered the smallest microorganism until recently.

Though the microorganism hasn't been named yet biologists are pretty positive that it is the smallest microorganism.

I don't which microscope you are talking about, but i would consider the electron microscope.... The smallest object seen through microscope are quarks which are present inside electrons and protons...

The nucleus of a cell can be viewed through what kind of microscope?

An Electron Microscope is used to study the contents of a nucleus.

Why are some of the cell organelles not clear in the structure of the cells observed under microscope?

It is not possible to see organelles with a compound light microscope because some organelles are to small to be seen with the low magnification of the light microscope. If they can not be seen through the compound microscope they are normally looked at through the electron microscopes (transmission electron microscope {TEM} or scanning electron microscope {SEM}).

Is flagella viewable through an electron microscop or a light microscope?

Eukaryotic flagella are visible through a light microscope. Bacterial flagella are only visible with a light microscope if they are specially stained with a mordant and a flagella stain.

Types of microscope and their uses?

Compound microscopes can be found in most biology and science classrooms. They are electrically operated and use light to enhance the image of a cell. They will have multiple lenses for viewing.Dissecting microscopes are also known as stereo microscopes. They have low magnification and are also light powered. These microscopes can view objects larger than what a compound microscope is able to handle, in three dimensions.Scanning Electron Microscopes use electrons instead of light to create an image. These microscopes produce three-dimensional images with high resolution and magnification. They also have a larger depth of focus.Transmission Electron Microscopes use electrons instead of light to create an image. The material prepared must be very thin. The beams of electrons that pass through it give the viewer high magnification and resolution. These give two-dimensional images.Electron microscopes are one of the most advanced microscopes used today. This microscope is powered by a beam of electrons with very short wavelengths. These electrons strike objects that come in its path and helps increase the resolution of the microscope. The electron microscope is one of the types of microscopes used to study cells like tiny viral cells as well as larger molecules.

Are vacuoles visible under X magnification?

The central vacuole of plant cells are really hard to notice, because it makes up most of the cell. However, under a light microscope, it's possible to barely see the space between the cell wall and the central vacuole.

What is the power source of a electron microscope?

The power source of an electron microscope is an electron gun located in the microscope that fires electrons through a series of lens and into a non-living object.

What things are looked at through electron microscopes?

Really small things. Because there are limits to how small an object we can observe through a light microscope, we developed the electron microscope. By setting up a sample and streaming electrons at it to resolve an image, we can "see" things smaller than we'd be able to see through a light microscope.

What is transmission electron microscopes?

A transmission electron microscope (TEM) is a microscope in which a beam of electrons is transmitted through an ultra-thin specimen, interacting with the specimen as it passes through it.

How do scientists see the mitochondria and nucleus?

The Nucleus is seen through the use of an Optical Microscope and The Mitochondria is seen through an Electron Microscope.

How electron beams fucossed?

Passing through (or along) strong magnetic fields. Eg. in an electron microscope.

How scientists view atoms?

They view atoms through an electron microscope.

What is a transmission electron microscope used for diagnosis?

The transmission electron microscope operates on the same principle as the light microscope but uses electrons instead of light. What you can see with a light microscope is limited by the wavelength of light. Transmission electron microscopes use electrons as "light source" and their much lower wavelength makes it possible to get a resolution a thousand times better than with light microscope.

What is the difference between ordinary microscope and electron microscope?

Magnification and resolution is in light microscope is about 500x and 0.2micro metres respectively than human eye.In e.microscope magnification is about 200,000x and resolution is 0.0005micro metres. You cannot observe live specimen through electron microscope. Lenses in light microscope are glass while e.microscope use magnetic lenses. E.microscope is relatively very larger than light microscope. You need special knowledge to handle electron microscope. You can observe through naked eye in e.microscope. A beam of electrons is sent through specimen in e.microscope.In light microscope a beam of light is sent. Electron microscope is very complex relative to light microscope.
