They are similar power wise, but the V star is best used for long highway rides whereas the Iron 883 shines in the city and twisty roads. That DOESN'T mean you can't use them for what most people use them for. I've seen dirt bike riders ride asphalt only... Anyhoo, my only problem is the Iron 883 is a little "small" looking so if your tall sit on one at the local dealer. ALSO another problem is the Iron is the lowest end of Harley Davidson so I might be a little iffy on that. Overall I highly recommend a test drive as you can book one relatively easily nowadays.
