The commercial is for Dow Chemical, not MasterCard. The Human Element commercial plays the "New Harmony Waltz" by Susan Voelz. There's a copy of the commercial on Utube.
Music is human-produced sound, whether by voice and/or through the playing of instruments, that is organized into a cohesive, expressive, and aesthetically pleasing artistic composition.
There's no Yes or No answer to this question. Singing is just the instrument of the human body. Mastering an instrument takes as much skill as learning to sing. I would say there relatively equal, however instruments require more dedication, and singing and learning relative pitches becomes necessary when you play your instrument long enough.

Whatever they listened to when they were human.
Well, I don't know if a single human voice can is capable of singing harmonies, nor do I know if a single human voice is capable of singing harmonies, but a single human using only his vocal tract can, in fact, tap into harmonic overtones, effectively singing more than one note at once. This is "overtone singing," as in Tuvan tradition. I don't know shite about music, though, and I'm just rattling off something I read.
The violin music in "The Human Element" commercial containing the periodic table is William Walton's "Touch Her Sweet Lips and Part". It is from the film score for the 1940's film of Shakespeare's Henry V. You can hear the entire piece on YouTube.
