probably the sunlight.............................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
During light dependent reactions chlorophyll and other light-aborbing molecules capture energy from sunlight.
The purpose of the light dependent reaction is to convert light energy into chemical energy in the form of ATP and NADPH. This process, also known as the light reactions or light-dependent photosynthesis, occurs in the thylakoid membranes of chloroplasts.
The main energy source for a reaction is typically provided by heat, light, or electricity.

Photosynthesis happens in two main stages, called the light-dependent stage and the light-independent stage. The light-independent stage is sometimes called the 'dark' stage. The light-dependent stage can only happen in the light. During this stage light is absorbed and turned into chemical energy (ATP). Oxygen is also produced. The light-independent stage can happen in the light or the dark ie it is independent of light! However, it needs substances made in the light-dependent stage so it cannot happen completely by itself. In the light-independent stage the energy trapped as ATP in the light-dependent stage is used to change carbon dioxide into sugar (glucose). The Calvin cycle converts carbon dioxide to carbohydrate. CO2 --------> (CH2O) This process requires an energy source and a hydrogen source, as well as carbon dioxide. The energy source is ATP. The hydrogen source is NADPH. Both of these substances are produced by the light-dependent reactions. For more details search this site for "calvin cycle", "light dependent" and l"ight independent". The two reactions of photosynthesis are connected by two substances: ATP and NADPH. These are produced by the light dependent reaction and are used by the light independent reaction. ATP is produced from ADP and Pi (phosphate): ADP + Pi ---> ATP This reaction requires energy to make it work, and this energy comes from light absorbed in the light dependent reaction. NADPH is produced from NADP+ and H: NADP+ + H ---> NADPH This reaction also requires energy, which is obtained from light in the light dependent reaction. The ATP and the NADPH are used in the light dependent reaction to provide energy and a source of H to convert CO2 to CH2O (carbohydrate). The products of the reactions (ADP, Pi, NADP+) are recycled in the light dependent reaction to produce more ATP and NADPH. The light-dependent reaction can only occur in the light because light supplies the energy needed for the reaction. In this stage of photosynthesis, light energy is converted into chemical energy (ATP) and 'reducing power' (NADPH) which are then used in the light-independent reaction. Also in the light-dependent reaction, water is split to provide the hydrogen needed to make NADPH. The light-independent reaction can take place in the light andthe dark, i.e., it is independent of the light! However, it needs the products of the light-dependent reaction (ATP and NADPH), so it cannot continue indefinitely without it. In the light-independent reaction, the ATP and NADPH produced by the light-dependent reaction are used to convert carbon dioxide into carbohydrate, e.g., glucose. This happens in a series or reactions called the Calvin cycle. A link is provided.
The carriers of energy formed during the light-dependent reaction are ATP (adenosine triphosphate) and NADPH (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate). These molecules carry the energy captured from sunlight and help fuel the light-independent reactions of photosynthesis.
They are ATP and NADH. They are energy carrying molecules.
