Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 03-06-04-060A (Section 06 - Engine/Propulsion System). ^ A new spark plug has been released for use in the above vehicles. The new spark plug has an Iridium tip instead of the current Platinum tip. Due to the different tip design the gap of the spark plug has also changed. ^ The new spark plug P/N 12571164 with AC Delco P/N 41-985 is gapped to 1.01 mm (0.040 in) when the spark plug is made. Notice: The spark plug gap is set during manufacturing and should not be changed or damage to the spark plug may result. Any new spark plug found to not be properly gapped should not be used.
I think it's .06 but if you get Bosch Platinum plugs, you won't have to worry about it.
Spark Plug Pink was created on 1979-06-28.

Replacing Spark Plug High Voltage WiresNO, not necessarily. Spark plug wires only need to be replaced maybe once or twice in the life of a vehicle, IF THEY HAVE NOT BEEN PHYSICALLY DAMAGED OR ABUSED.Therefore, it is normally not necessary to replace the plug wires when replacing the plugs.
Remove oil filler plug. Pull the plastic cover off. On top of engine, remove the 4 bolts and pull that plastic piece up. The spark plug boots will pull up with that. Spark plugs are down in the wells.
It is on the right rear side of the drivers side head. BESIDE the BACK spark plug.
1) Disconnect the wire harness from the ignition coils2) use a 10mm socket to take off the bolts on the ignition coils3) pull the plug boots out in pairs ( so you don't have to disconnect the wires)4) remove spark plugs with standard spark plug tool(comes with most socket-sets)5) gap new plugs to .04 with spark plug gapper6) install new spark plugs (make sure they're tight, but you don't need to kill it)7) put the plugs boots back (the wires 'click' on the plug, the coil boots don't 'click')8) put the ignition coil bolts back in9) reconnect the wire harnesses to the ignition coils10) enjoy your sweet car!!**NGK plugs are your best bet**if you have any check engine lights, disconnect the battery for 5 minutes to reset the codes
