You mean Water Vapor Transition (WVT) or Water Vapor Transition Rate (WVTR) , i guess
it depends on your material to be tested. There are British standarts and ASTM. for plastic sheets ASTM E96 is commen. In that procedure desicant method looks better. I personally tried Water Cup method but u need to control relative humidity to obtain correct data.
