The State flower of Colorado is the Columbine. Look it up on the web. It is one of the most beautiful flowers you'll ever see. It only grows in the summer in the mountains just below and just above timberline. Timberline in Colorado averages 11,500 ft above sea level. While most all Columbine have large blue petals, I have also found samll fields of Columbine with pure white petals. They are very rare.
