Jerry Ball was 16 years old in early 1983 when he asked his parents if he could go hang out with friends at the old Hecks shopping center parking lot in Beckley, WV. They told him no. Jerry had been victemized for years by a ruthless father and he just seemed to snap. He shot one parent, his father, I think, and bludgeoned the other and two younger siblings to death with a Baseball bat. One of those two siblings was still alive when the WV State Police discovered the bodies the next day, but later died at the hospital. The house was located around the Dry Hill area of Beckleyand has since been torn down. The family was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens near Beckley, WV. Jerry Ball pleaded guilty and was sentence to life imprisonment. The extended family still protests at his parole hearings and he is subsequently denied parole. He was incarcerated at the Anthonly Correctional Facility for Youthful offenders until adult status, then transferred to a maximum security penitentiary in WV> He is still imprisoned today.
