Winter was found off the coast of Florida. She lost circulation in her tail because a crab trap was tied on it to tight. She was washed up on the beach for 36 hours until a fisher man found her. The clearwater Mareine hospital got her and brought winter there. Her tail eventually fell off. No one has ever seen a dolphin loose their whole tail and live. She soon figured out how to swim without a tail. She was going side to side. They soon found out that it was damageing her spinal cord and had to make her a new tail because a dolphins tail is designed to go up and down. Today she can swim up and down without her tail and does shows at the clearwater Mareine aquriam with Panama the dolphin. You can now adopt winter. She will never be sent out to the wilderness because she does not have the advantage to stay away from predators like regular dolphins. That's it! I hope u enjoyed the story oh and I'm only 10.
