The number of people in the House of Representatives is based on population, and Senate is equal:two from each state.
The feature of equal representation for all states was retained in the structure of the Senate. In the Confederation Congress, each state had one vote, regardless of its size or population. Similarly, in the Senate, each state is represented by two senators, ensuring that smaller states have an equal say in the legislative process.

The senate declared Nero a public enemy, in 68 AD. He was then forced to commit suicide. The senate did this on account of Nero placing blame on the Christians for the fire of 'The Golden House'. (A well known palace structure in Rome.)
