"Myopia" by Syl Cheney-Coker is a poignant poem that explores themes of oppression, violence, and loss in a post-colonial context. The poem captures the experiences of a society struggling with the effects of colonization, drawing attention to the suffering and displacement caused by external forces. Through powerful imagery and vivid language, the poet conveys a sense of longing for freedom and a yearning for a brighter future amidst the darkness of the past.
