As Edward and Bella are walking to class they see Jessica and Edward is reading her mind. She is about to bombard Bella with questions for example, were Bella and Edward dating? When Bella and Jessica are talking about Edward Bella admits that she thinks she likes Edward more than Edward likes her. Edward finds out that she thinks that from reading Jessica's mind and tries to convince her that that is not true. They continue to talk at lunch about taking a trip to escape the dance at school.
