Roman Catholic AnswerSt. Francis de Sales was Bishop of Geneva from the late 16th century through the early 17th century. He is a doctor of the Church and is most famous for his book, Introduction to the Devout Life. His book, Introduction is a classic on leading a Christian life, and explains prayer quite well. St. Francis spent his entire life in prayer to God, and implemented it throughout his life: he went into Geneva to reconvert the protestants who were second and third generation heretics from the protestant revolt earlier in the century. He was wildly successful, the entire region, over 61,000 souls returned to the Church. His tracts that he composed for this purpose have been gathered into the book, The Catholic Controversy, which forms a complete proof for the Catholic faith and is still sold today.
