Water in the air doesn't heat the air up. Water in the air moderates temperatures. It tends to make daytime temperatures cooler and nighttime temperatures warmer than they would be in drier air.
Daytime A 2006 study revealed that because airplane exhaust contrails reflect little or no sunlight during nighttime and wintertime flights, they are less able to compensate for the climate-warming gases they contain.
Generally, southern California, specifically San Diego near the ocean (not inland) is stable and in that range. Same with parts of Los Angeles that aren't too far inland. Go to weather.com, type in a city, hit enter, click "10 day", then scroll down and click "averages", then look at the daytime high and nighttime low for each month in the graph. Then click on "daily averages" drop down menu and click "compare cities" and enter another city. It will open in daytime high view for those two cities, so after you check out the differences, click "nighttime low" to see how those look. Rinse and repeat with different cities.
Daytime is when the sun is up. Nighttime is when the sun goes down.
