One technique is to create dialogue between characters to explain details.

Another is to write it as if seen through the character's eyes or felt by the character so that you experience it for yourself.

A third is to use internal dialogue from within the character's head so that you bond in some form with the character and what they know or see is what you know or see.

A huge axiom for writing a novel is "Show; don't tell." Readers like to "see" or "feel" when reading. A passive recitation of details invokes no response or connection to the story and it usually disconnects the reader from the book.
