The temperatures on Mount Fuji vary greatly depending on where you are. Temperatures at the base are more moderate than those at the summit. In fact, average monthly temperatures around the summit of the mountain fall below the freezing point from fall through spring.

In Mt. Fuji or on Mt. Fugi?

I can assure you that the answers to these two questions would be very different BUT you would need to ask either for a specific time and place or for a large range of answers.

A better question would read:

"What is the temperature on the top of Mt. Fuji in April?"

"What is the temperature at the core of Mt. Fuji?"

"What is the temperature of the base of Mt. Fuji in September?"

"What are the hottest and coldest average temperatures at the peak of Mt. Fuji?"

If you aren't more specific people simply don't know what information you are looking for and might answer a different question from the one you meant to ask. :)

Hope this helps,

D

Depends entirely on the area.

Most of the base of Fuji lies around 1,000 metres above sea level, this elevation has a dramatic effect on the climate of the surrounding area.

Here is the average temperatures for Lake Yamanaka (few miles from Mt Fuji)

August Maximum: 27°C / Minimum: 17°C

January Maximum: 4°C / Minimum: -9°C

As you can see, the climate type falls under humid continental with warm, humid summers and icy, snowy winters.
