Bell's palsy is the name of this condition. If it causes
difficulty in closing the eye, then deliberate steps may be
necessary to prevent the Cornea from drying out.

Bell's Palsy causes one-sided facial paralysis. Extra care should be taken if the eye is affected. It often takes months for the condition to resolve.
