Jesus was god's only begotten son that means Jesus was God's only son

Answer 2: the use of the word 'begotten' implies an act of procreation

beget - To cause; to produce; To procreate; to father (rarely: to mother); to get with child.

To be honest, why this term is used in The Bible and Christian creed I am not sure as it seems rather inappropriate and even insulting both to God and Mary.

If you're all sons and daughters of God why is Jesus Christ God's only begotten son?

The former is metaphorical, the latter is intended literally. Answer: We are all made in God's image Genesis 1:27, we bear the image of God (not physically) so basically we are his sons and daughter, but God has directly put a piece of himself in Jesus. John "in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God." Jesus is God's word, living breathing wikipedia of God's word, not one of us knows all about what the bible says and what God want, only Jesus, but God had to implant that special piece in Jesus, thus meaning he was made special though we all bear God's image. He is God in the way that he knows God and he's sinless. Answer According to the Bible, all people who believe on Jesus Christ as their risen Lord and Saviour become the *adopted* children of God. Jesus is the only begotten Son because he was born out of God. Jesus being born of God is God and this is where the Divinity of Jesus is emphasized. Remember, Jesus existed with God in the beginning and the bible says all things were created by Him. ( see John 1:1-7 ) In conclusion we keep in mind the term *adoption*.... through Jesus, we also have become sons and daughters of God. ========== We are all composed of a spirit and a physical body. The Father is the father of all spirits including that of Jesus, but the only being to ever live on the Earth who was also the physical offspring of the Father was Jesus. Joseph was only his step-father. I don't know how that works but that's what the Bible says.
