it is called a "thin client" as the host(server) on it only need one high performance computer where other low-performance is connected,that why places who need many computer for many people don't have to spend to much money on buying many expensive ones as they only need one and the rest can be extremely cheap one

∙ 9y agoDepends on your needs or who you want to impress. it can be called client/server technology, hosted applications, 2-tier or 3-tier technology, SAAS (software as a service) and the latest one is cloud technology or cloud servers.
