Musical icons are the stepping stones in which the artists of today draw their influence from. By combining the musical ideas of past artists with the unique nature of their own musical fingerprint, artists take common threads of different artists and weave them into beautiful, yet stunningly unique musical tapestries. Take the influence of the Delta and Chicago-style blues on the British Blues invasion during the 1960's for example. Many of the white, lower-middle class musicians that were being raised in Britain (Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, etc.) identified with not only the musical sound, but the lyrical content of that music. These artists then took the blues guitar techniques that they heard and identified with: note-bending, dominant sevenths, shuffle beats and syncopation, and blues scale soloing, and ran these through amplifiers and added distortion, and from there we see a whole new sound, and a whole style of music.

Raymond deane's musical style was completely different from other artists. He had a unique style of his own. He used a mixture of jazz and folk that was unusual at that time. He made his musical debut in the 1920's, when the blues was popular. He also used traditional Irish music. He also played a few Broadway shows. Many of the best composers were inspired by Raymond deane's style.
