The small intestine is considerably longer than the esophagus, with it being about 6 meters (or about 19 feet) long in adult humans. In comparison, the adult human esophagus is only .25 meters (or about 1 foot) long.

The oesophagus is the very start of digestion, it is the tube leading off the mouth that the enzymes are added to the food. The small intestine is near the end of the digestive system, and it is a long tube that squeezes (Peristalsis) all the liquid out of the waste food.

The two are entirely different.
