At at news release where level 5 shared there future vision on August 25 2009 they indicated that the game will include an RPG mode that allows players to create their own avatar and experience life in the Layton series version of London. This bonus mode will offer a 100 hours of play time. In the beginning of the film Layton receives a letter from an Opera singer who invites them to a performance and then asks Layton, Luke, and Remi for assistance in a mystery. The Movie takes place right after the event's of the first prequel which some have titled Professor Layton and the Specter's Flute. The movie is to be released in Japan on December 19 2009 in Japanese. A trailer was recently released of Professor Layton Vs. Ace Attorney, and Luke was a prominent part of that trailer, so one can only assume that he either returns to Layton or it's another partial Professor Layton prequel type of thing.
