The third holiest Islamic city
There are quite a number of such sites, but the most famous is the Temple-Mount/Noble-Sanctuary area in the Old City of Jerusalem. It is the holiest site in the world to Jews and the third holiest site in the world to Muslims.
The Third Holiest Site in Judaism (after the Western Wall and the Old City of Jerusalem as Number 1 and the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron as Number 2) would be the Old City of Safed and the Centers of Kabbalah.
Muslims believe that Muhammad, who was the founder of Islam, rose into heaven from a rock in Jerusalem. __________________________________________________ There is the third holiest mosque in Jerusalem; AlQods Mosque
The Haram al-Sharif, or the Noble Sanctuary, is a site of immense religious significance for both Jews and Muslims, which contributes to its status as a point of conflict. For Muslims, it houses the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock, marking the third holiest site in Islam. For Jews, it is the location of the ancient Temple, making it the holiest site in Judaism. Disputes over access, control, and the interpretation of historical narratives surrounding this sacred area have fueled tensions and ongoing conflicts between the two communities.
It is not the Muslims who go to the Wailing Wall; it is the Jews. However, the Wailing Wall is the retaining wall of the central plateau upon which sit Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock Shrine which together comprise the third holiest site in the world for Islam.
The holiest city for the Muslims is Makka (Mecca) situated in Saudi Arabia.
Al Quds is important for both Jews and Muslims because there are there for Jews the holy places of the Western Wall and the Temple Mount Complex and for Muslims there are there Al-Aqsa mosque (that is considered the third of the three holiest mosques in Islam history). For both Muslims and Jews the whole site of Al-Quds (or East Jerusalem) is holy.
It is the East of Jerusalem (or AlQods) where there are the Western Wall and the Temple Mount Complex (that are holy places for Jews) and Al-Aqsa mosque (that is considered the third of the three holiest mosques in Islam history). For both Muslims and Jews the whole site of Al-Qods (Jerusalem) is holy.
The holiest city for the Muslims is Makkah(Mecca),S.Arabia
Three sites. The holiest site for Muslims is the Kaba in Makkah (or Mecca).Of lesser importance are -AlMasjid Alnabawi (the Prophet Mosque) in Almadinah (or Medina), andAlMasjid AlAqsa (the AlaQsa Mosque) in AlQods (or Jerusalem)
No, I believe that it should belong to Israel. It is one of the Muslims holy cities but not the holiest, it is somewhere around their third holiest city, while in Judaism, it is by far the holiest city.Plus the Jews were there 3,000 to 2,000 years before the Muslims. Also, the Israelis are the U.S.A's only true Middle-Eastern ally. If the Muslims controlled Jerusalem, the terrorists would become stronger while Israel would grow weaker. If the Muslims owned Jerusalem the terrorists would have free movement within the city, and since the terrorists want us Americans dead that would be bad.
