Teresa is the girl Meggie's mother. When Mo was reading to her and baby Meggie, Teresa was pulled into the book . Meggie never knew her mother until Teresa was read out of the book and Capricorn was ready to execute her.
Meggie reads the book instead because when Mo reads aloud, what's happening in the book turns into real life.
In the end of Inkheart (the 1st book in the series) Meggie and Mo beat all the "bad guys", Dustfinger was left in the real world instead of returned to the fictional Inkheart world with the other characters read out of their story worlds, Meggie and Mo found Resa (Meggie's mother) and they all moved to live with Eleanor (Meggie's aunt).
If you enjoy reading the book after you have read through the first few chapters then you will know if you like it or not. read the back or judge it by the title. Another way is to google the book.
She reads out Tinker Bell by accident when she was in the cell with the writer and later she read out the Tin Soldier. She is able to return the tin soldier to his story but is unable to get to Tinkerbell to do so with her. -Tomo

Inkheart an enchanting fantasy tale about a girl called Meggie. Meggie is a girl the age of twelve who lives in Italy with her father, Mortimer, but Meggie has always called him Mo. Mo is a bookbinder who loves books and so does Meggie, although unlike most fathers he has never read out loud to her since her mother "left".When Meggie can't sleep she lays down with a book and reads by candlelight, even though Mo has told her many times not to, when she is sad she reads, and when she has nightmares she runs to mo's room and reads, nothing allows her to fall asleep better than a book and the sound of Mo's soft breathing. At night she falls asleep with a book under her pillow and swears that sometimes she can hear it whispering to her. Mo has always told Meggie the truth about everything or so Meggie thinks.
His name is Farid. Farid was read out of the book Arabian Nights by Meggie's Father, Mo. Farid was just a simple servant for the forty thieves. He has troubles with the world outside the book at first, but grows to enjoy living there. Farid also has a very strong friendship with the fire eater Dustfinger. It is made obvious in the story that Meggie and Farid both like each other very much.

Fenoglio rewrote the section on the Shadow and gave it to Meggie who read that the Shadow turned on his master (Capricorn) however at the last moment Meggie couldn't do it and her father (Mortimer) took over reading for her and killed Capricorn.
