Water vapor is the major gas in terms of retaining warmth on our planet. It accounts for 75% of all retained warmth. Man has no control over its levels. When it gets too high, it falls as rain.
As far as man-made global warming goes Carbon dioxide(CO2) is the top contributing greenhouse gasresponsible for the accelerated greenhouse effect, added by humans burning fossil fuels. CO2 is having the largest effect on the recent increases in global temperature.
Termites are not one of the top 20 reasons for global warming. While they do release methane, a potent greenhouse gas, the main contributors to global warming are activities like burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and agriculture.
Countries such as China, the United States, and India are among the top emitters of greenhouse gases contributing to global warming. Each of these countries plays a significant role in the overall impact on climate change due to their population size and industrial activities.
Countries in Asia such as China are currently contributing the most to global warming. This is because they are currently going through an industrial revolution, and have a lot of factories which make a lot of pollution.
Carbon dioxide (CO2) is the primary greenhouse gas responsible for global warming, due to its high concentration in the atmosphere from burning fossil fuels. Methane (CH4) is another significant contributor to global warming, largely from agricultural activities and natural gas production. Nitrous oxide (N2O) is also a potent greenhouse gas, largely emitted from agricultural practices and industrial activities.
Global warming can lead to the expansion of the lower layers of the atmosphere (troposphere and stratosphere) due to increased greenhouse gas concentrations. This can result in changes in temperature profiles and circulation patterns, impacting weather and climate. The upper layers of the atmosphere (mesosphere and thermosphere) may experience cooling due to changes in energy distribution.
Pollution, specifically greenhouse gas emissions, is a significant contributor to global warming. Human activities like burning fossil fuels release these gases into the atmosphere, trapping heat and causing the Earth's temperature to rise. Efforts to reduce pollution can help mitigate the impacts of global warming.
I don't think so, UK is rated as the top 7 emitter of the world's top carbon polluter the only thing that can make it nice is by contributing an act to stop global warming as well as other countries since UK has been signed up to Kyoto protocol since 1995
Why don't people get into their heads. YOU CANNOT STOP GLOBAL WARMING it is in nature. All you can do is postpone the inevitable. NO scientist of any stature has said you can stop it. When the global emisions of carbon dioxide are 0.05% of the total greenhouse gasses and out of that 0.05% comes industrial and human polution. You can imagine the difference if it were possible to stop this 0.05% compared the 99.9% of other green house gases (water vapour etc.,). The answer would be like one of the top scientists said. It would be like an elephant charging with a fly on its back. Getting rid of the fly wouldn't stop the elephant from charging.
There are quite a few people in the world who believe that Global Warming is indeed a legitimate problem. These people have followed scientific evidence. Another answer: There are also many who believe it isn't, including many top scientists. Example: The is no correlation of temps and co2 in the atmosphere, as claimed by alarmists. There has been no warming at all since the late 90's.
It doesn't. It makes it worse. Hotter temperature means more water vapor in the atmosphere. Water is a GHG (greenhouse gas) and when there is more of it, the temperature goes up allowing for more water - and this cycle continues until something causes the temperature to drop.
Universally. 2008 was the coldest since 2001 yet it still makes the top 10 hottest years on average.
