According to Car and Driver magazine, "the top speed of a 2003 Nissan Maxima is uncertain, but it is drag limited at 147 mph." The 2003 Nissan Maxima Owner's Manual lists a top speed of 135 mph.

I'm driving 98 maxima with (manual 5 speed) last year(2008) i put 140MPH no problem.
On the top rear of the transmission is a wire connector with 2 wires. That's the speed sensor. On the top rear of the transmission is a wire connector with 2 wires. That's the speed sensor.
The speed sensor (transmission revolution sensor) is located on the left side of the bellhousing near the top. Access is through the driver's side wheel well. I'm at the wheel well and i cant see the speed sensor
