Depends on which Mark you're referring to. The earliest spits had relatively anemic engines, 3-bladed props and were likely capable of around 290-320kts, depending on altitude. The last models produced, however, had very powerful engines, 5-bladed props, and I would estimate top airspeed at over 415kts.
