By using a pulley one can easily do things with less effort
Using a movable pulley is known as using it to 'advantage'. The line going to the movable pulley contributes towards the force acting on the load. A line going to a fixed pulley, only serves to change the direction of the force.

A pulley is a simple machine that helps you carry heavy objects without using a large amount of force.

That depends on how the pulley is mounted on the motor. If the pulley is welded then no most likely you will have to cut it to get it off. However, if the pulley is fixed to the motor using a bolt/s or other fasteners then yes. Warning: The pulley could be press fit onto the motor. If this is the case it can come off but might not be able to ever go back on.
Mechanical advantage: you can use some method (eg, lever or pulley wheels) to move an object which otherwise would be too heavy, or jammed. The trade off is that you can't get away with using less work - the reduced force you need to apply is compensated by the fact you have to move your force throgh a proportionately larger distance.
Disconnect the battery. Using a metric socket and a breaker bar turn the tensioner clockwise and release the belt. Using a metric socket take off the bolt in the middle of the pulley. Use a pulley puller and pull it off.
For most products you can buy, there is a trade-off between quality and price.
yep, you have to take the pulley off using a power steering pulley puller, easily found for rental at autozone. the part that sucks is putting the pulley back on. when you figure that out, IF you figure that out, everything else will be fine.
HOW TO GET A PULLEY OFF A 1998 CHEVY BLAZER
Are you talking about the "idler pulley"? They are quite simple to change. Loosen the serpentine belt by using a socket on the center of the tensioner pulley, slide the belt off the idler pulley, use a socket to pull the center bolt of the idler pulley and replace the pulley with a new one.

A pulley system is a force multiplier. That means you trade distance for force. You pull the rope a long way to lift the load a short way, but the force you need is reduced.
The ratio for a simple pulley (not a pulley block), using an inelastic string, is 1.
