There is no exact translation for a person in his or her "teen" years (literal Russian translation of numbers would be: 11 - one-over-ten; 12 - two-over-ten, etc. - all the way to 19 - nine-over-ten. Therefore, structurally it would be impossible to create the exact translation for "teen", and even if it was possible, it would not correspond with the English meaning of 13-19 years old). The closest equivalent is "ПОДРОСТОК" (PODROSTOK), which applies to older children(12-17 years old, i.e. roughly in their teen years), but not when they are 18 or 19 years old. The literary and older Russian equivalent is "ОТРОК" (OTROK).
