you must visit your local gp and be immediately referred to the opthemology (eye) dept. to receive the correct treatment which usually consists of steroid drops hourly for the first few days and also dilating drops to prevent your lens sticking which creates other issues. The dilating drops make your vision super blurry but do stop the pain. The steroid drops are tapered off gradually until you will be down to one drop a day. unfortunately there is no cure only treatment which you must do properly as there are lots of complications to iritis. I have had it 4 times and although the drops are not ideal they do work eventually!

Can spondylitis cause hairloss shingles iritis?

Upon seeing an eye specialist who treated me for severe iritis, I was referred to a rheumatologist who diagnosed me with spondylitis. A blood test for HLA-B27 followed, which was positive. Perhaps it is related, but I do suffer from shingles when stressed and have some hair loss on my legs. It seems the immune disorder causing the arthritis affects the intestines as well, as I experience bloating frequently after eating - less since I changed my diet to Gluten Free. Homeopathic Rhus Tox seems to offer some relief.
