How would you compare your tribe to Okonkwo and his tribe?

My tribe is a lot more individualistic and less community focused. There is more focus on the me, and more on consumption and materialism. Hard work is not as highly valued, and war is not taken into proper regard. My tribe's legal system is much more complicated so much that the average person can not understand it. It takes many years just to understand a single part of my tribe's legal system, whereas the justice in Okonkwo's tribe is clear even to a child. My tribe is more focused on services and industry, whereas Okonkwo's tribe is more agrarian focused.

How does Christianity play a role in Okonkwo's life?

Christianity acts as an external opponent to Okonkwo's values and lifestyle. Although seemingly harmless at first, Christianity provides a foothold for the colonists to break apart the tribe by assimilating the tribe's weak and outcast, and then expanding from there. Okonkwo views Christianity as a sacrilege and an offense to his own gods, so when Nwoye begins to be attracted to Christianity, Okonkwo is forced to disown his son.

Did okonkwo commit suicide to escape the results of his rush courage against the white man?

In the book Things Fall Apart, Okonkwo commited suicide because he felt that his tribe had degenerated in "old woman". He thought this because of his tribe's lack of response after he murdered the white man's messenger. Okonkwo couldn't stand to live in a time/place which embraced the white man. Also, Okonkwo had suffered a great injustice at the hands of the white man; he had been jailed and beaten by him.

What do you think his first day with Okonkwo would be like for Ikemefuna?

The day that Ikemefuna is taken by Okonkwo, it would seem as if he is being taken (with the consent of his tribe), away from his family to a foreign land by a huge warrior. Okonkwo is a strong silent type with a stern face, so I doubt much would be said between them.
