There isn't a trick. Once you have chosen your cauldron and the potion you would like to make, you are given a set on instructions to follow in a certain amount of time. Read the instructions carefully and carry out each step for your potion to be successful.

You had to choose the correct bottle which would allow you to move on. In September 2015, Pottermore was redesigned and relaunched. The original concept of following and interacting with the story changed. Moments such as the potions puzzle no longer exist.
Potion brewing on Pottermore is about time management. Part of the process is waiting for the potion to brew and returning on time.
Yes pottermore is fairly good the only problem is the second book isnt unlocked yet and it is quite annoying but you can duel make potions and even get put into a house and get a wand
