The Basic thing are different with in Vista and Xp are tehy layout and representation and controll of the features of how the functionaliy and control of the OS is handle via the difference of them both.. First answer...WHAT? The user interfaces differ quite a bit from XP to Vista. Vista also requires much more user set up functions than XP. That was why it was a failure, Instead of Microsoft developing an easier interface, the designed a monster!!
Both are same as DOS is also an OS.. But Dos is Character User Interface(CUI) But latest Operating systems are Graphical User Interface(GUI) ex: Windows xp, Windows 7, Windows Vista Etc.,

If you are asking about the graphical interface, windows XP comes with just 1 interface, and it can be customized to a point, but that is somewhat limited. Unix comes with multiple graphical desktop managers, not just one. Users can pick and choose which environment is best for them. With Windows, the choice is already made for the user. Handling of icons and desktops are very different in Unix and Windows. The list would be too long to detail in this answer.
Graphic User Interface 98 Windows 2k XP MAC etc. You can physically work on one with the computer with a mouse and keyboard.
All versions of Windows XP support multiple users.
